Perera stressed this to Sri Lanka Mirror when asked as to whether talks were being held towards reaching a consensus between the two.

He recalled how Rajapaksa had cooperated when Chandrika Kumaratunga was the president.

Their consensus could be helpful in realizing the UPFA policy manifesto presented with both their agreement, Perera added.
