Ekneligoda case : Army secretes suspects

The Sri Lankan Army has shirked from handing over Army officers who are allegedly connected to the abduction of journalist Prageeth Ekneligoda.

The Army is yet to hand over these officers to the CID.

According to a confession made by Sumathipala Suresh Kumar, who is currently under arrest with regard to the case, the CID had needed to obtain statements from several Army officers who are allegedly linked to the case.

Meanwhile, speaking during a media briefing in Colombo yesterday (10), Mr. Ekneligoda's wife - Sandhya Ekneligoda said that according to information, an Army officer linked to the case is being forcefully detained at an Army camp.

She urged the government to handover the relevant officer to the CID.
