His office has received complaints that candidates of leading parties were luring people to their meetings by way of holding such draws.
Some of these incidents have been reported from Hambantota, Badulla and Matara districts.
Elections commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya has warned parliamentary election candidates that they will lose their candidature if they act unlawfully by handing out prizes after holding draws among the public.
