Responding to an article in ‘Sathhanda’ newspaper, Bandara told Sri Lanka Mirror that there was no truth to the article in question.

The newspaper article claimed Rathana Thera was to return to the UPFA in order to prevent the UNP from forming a government after the election.

It is unlikely Rathana Thera is to get appointed to parliament due to the UNP policy not to grant such positions to Buddhist monks, it said.

Meanwhile, Rathana Thera participated in three election rallies attended by prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in Matara yesterday (08).
