Police protection has been given to the grave of rugby player Wasim Thajudeen, who had been tortured to death three years ago.

He is buried at a mosque down Hospital Road in Dehiwala, police sources say.

The body is expected to be exhumed on August 05.

Thajudeen was found murdered on 16 May 2012, but police said at the time he had died in a road accident.

Yoshitha Rajapaksa, a son of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa, is to be questioned over the murder.
