Thajudeen was tortured to death Featured

Leading rugby player Wasim Thajudeen had been tortured to death three years ago, says the CID.

Investigations reveal that his teeth, ribs, a thigh bone had been broken and that he had been attacked with a blunt instrument.

Police had said he died in a motor accident in Narahenpita, but CID disputes it and points to several factors, the main one being that his wallet had been found at Kirulapone.

Thajudeen had been on his way to a friend’s party, when he met with his death under mysterious circumstances.

His burnt car was found at an isolated location near Shalika grounds.

The CID questions as to why the wall to which the car had crashed on had not been damaged, why people nearby did not hear the sound of a motor accident, why Thajudeen did not try to escape had the car caught fire etc.

His badly charred body was retrieved on the following morning.
