UPFA manifesto launch put off for tomorrow Featured

The UPFA has put off, until 9.00 am tomorrow (28), the launch of its manifesto for the parliamentary election, which was originally due to take place today, said SLFP spokesman Dilan Perera.

The postponement is based on astrologers’ advice to former president Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The manifesto, making attractive promises for all communities, will be unveiled at Henry Pedris Stadium in Colombo.

Covering education, health, public servants and estate workers, it will propose to generate IT-based jobs for educated youths in the 18 to 35 year age group, to uplift livelihoods of low-income groups and to create self employment opportunities.

Themed ‘revive the country – start anew’, the manifesto aims to unite all irrespective of party differences, said Perera.
