Former minister Vinayagamurthi Muralitharan alias Karuna Amman has refuted media reports attributed to him, which says the Army had taken the arrested LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran to Mahinda Rajapaksa, former president and Kuruengala district candidate, before he was killed.
In a video released by him to the media, Karuna Amman says he has not made such remark to any media.
He says this has been an attempt to target the election, and asks that falsehoods be not published.
Uttering falsehoods is not media freedom, he says in the video.
