Mr. Rajapaksa has said that a man who was clearly drunk had grabbed his finger when he was walking through the crowd.

"A man who was clearly drunk, tightly grabbed my finger...It was so painful, I saw stars... In my pain i grabbed back my hand and balled my fist. I have no intention to file a police complaint and initiate a probe. He was drunk... Now many people are weaving several stories over this incident. Not only me, anyone would see stars if their finger was grabbed," Mr. Rajapaksa had said.
