Senaratne is contesting the forthcoming parliamentary election from Kalutara under the ‘elephant’ symbol.
He is one of the leading politicians who left the then UPFA regime and extended support to common candidate Sirisena at the presidential election.
The president has already declared his intention of forming a national government after the polls.
