Voters who do not have National Identity Cards required to exercise their franchise at the upcoming election, should send in their photographs to the District election offices via Grama Niladhari officers before August 10, Deputy Commissioner of Elections (Admin) - M.M. Mohammed says.
He adds that IDPs should also send in their applications to the Elections commission before August 10.
Those who are seeking for temporary IDs should apply a week before elections, he further said.
The Deputy Commissioner said that persons without a valid Identity card will not be issued ballot papers at polling stations.
