The President's decision not to grant nominations to former UPFA MPs facing corruption charges is the reason behind this, reports say.
It is said that the President has decided not to grant nominations to former ministers Johnston Fernando, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Mervyn Silva, Rohitha Abeygunawardena, Sarana Gunewardena and Lakshman Wasantha Perera as well as former MPs Duminda Silva and Sajin Vass Gunewardena.
UPFA leaders and the President have commenced discussions on this regard.
