The President has made the assurance during a special discussion with Ms. Kumaratunga yesterday (05).
Although a recent UPFA media release signed by party secretary - Susil Premajayantha stated that Mahinda Rajapaksa has been granted nominations, the President has remained silent on the matter.
After the meeting, Ms. Kumaratunga said her stance with regard to the issue would be made known within the next 24 hours.
Ms. Kumaratunga was also seen engaged in religious activities at the Munneswaram Kovil in Chilaw on Saturday (04).
