Former monitoring MPs in two powerful ministries as well as several former ministers are among those who won't be granted nominations, sources add.
A high placed spokesperson of the UPFA said that the decision was taken after considering the allegations these individuals are facing as well as the general public dislike raised against them.
The former MPs deprived of nominations were representing the districts of Gampaha, Kalutara, Galle and Colombo and it is expected that they will be replaced with new faces, the spokesperson added.
Meanwhile, sources also say that the majority of National List MPs of the UPFA too, will lose their parliamentary seats after the General election.
