MR agrees to decision that prevents SLFP split

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has informed President Maithripala Sirisena that he is prepared to take any decision that prevents the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) from being split.

Mr. Rajapaksa had said thus while speaking to the President over the phone early this morning (03).

Speaking to 'Sri Lanka Mirror', former minister Basil Rajapaksa said that they are expecting the President's response this morning.

The former President had said that he is prepared to make any sacrifice to prevent the SLFP from being split, Basil Rajapaksa added.

He further said that President Sirisena is yet to state that the former President will not be allowed to contest under the SLFP ticket.
