The administration of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has recently decided to double the salary of the bank's three deputy governors, internal sources say.

Dr. P.N. Weerasinghe, B.D.W.A. Silva and P. Samarasiri are currently functioning as the bank's deputy governors.

Accordingly, their pay, excluding all allowances, will exceed Rs. 400,000, reports say.

Other officials of the CBSL are quite put out due to this, reports add.

Meanwhile, it is said that the CBSL governor has transferred the Director of Human Resources to another section, over the influence of the bank's trade unions.
