SLFPers as well as the Jathika Hela Urumaya and civil organisations who backed Mr. Sirisena at the January Presidential election, have already commenced talks on this regard.

Speaking to 'Sri Lanka Mirror' a senior coordinating officer at the Presidential secretariat said that talks on this matter have also commenced with the UNP.

However, at the party Working Committee meeting held recently, the UNP decided to contest the General election under the 'Elephant' symbol.
