Following a discussion between Health Ministry officials and a group of doctors including Consultant Cardiologis Dr. Namal Gamage, it has been agreed not use the cardiac surgery operation room for other surgeries. As a result it was decided to recommence the operations and further activities will be carried out according to a time table, Perera further stated.

Due to an internal conflict with regard to the utilization of the cardiac surgery operating room for other surgeries, performing heart surgeries were halted since 11 January.
