Releasing a statement Sri Lanka Police had also stated that parallel to International Day against Drug Abuse the missions to seize illegal alcohol and drugs have been increased.

Accordingly, the particular event has also been organized to direct the public attention towards illegal liquor stores operating in their areas and drug abuse taking place around them.
