This follows a meeting yesterday of the committee trying to unite president Sirisena with his predecessor Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Meanwhile, deputy minister Ajith Perera says the good news expected by the entire country that parliament would be dissolved, would soon be known to the public.

Speaking to the media today, he said a general election could be held soon, as the existing parliament cannot adopt the 20th amendment.
