It is being organized by Right to Life, a civil society organization.

Secretary of the organization Philip Dissanayake told Sri Lanka Mirror that their targets this year include making Sri Lanka a torture free zone and making the government sign the alternative protocol prohibiting torture.

He added that the people, government, civil society and the media should keep abreast with the supporting of victims of torture.
