Nominations will be given to young professionals in the legal, medical, accountancy, business, media, sports and arts fields who do not face accusations of corruption or fraud, he told Sri Lanka Mirror.

The president has personally held discussions with more than 60 such persons who seek nominations from the SLFP at the upcoming general election, said the minister.

He has already decided to give nominations to Pradeep Jayawardena, a grandson of the late president J.R. Jayewardene, several top officials of ministries, university lecturers and artistes, he added.
