This comes as SLFP seniors are making attempts to strengthen the UPFA and unite Rajapaksa with president Maithripala Sirisena in order to contest the polls.

This policy manifesto has been formulated by a team led by MP Dullas Alahapperuma, and also comprising Wimal Weerawansa and Udaya Gammanpila.

The 12-point, 19 page document focuses on a modern country, proud nation and a friendly society to rebuild the freed country, they say.

It promises to disband all institutions formed outside the law to exact political revenge and to investigate major frauds and punish the guilty irrespective of positions within the existing legal framework.
