'Public expectations of Good Governance not met' Featured

The artistes' collective - Perambara Kalakaruwo says that the public expectations of Good Governance not been met.

Speaking at an event of the collective in Colombo today (08), veteran actress Deepani de Silva said that she does not oppose the appointment of Ranil Wickremesinghe as Prime minister to implement the 100-day programme.

However, him continuing in the position further has become problematic and a chance should be given to dissolve parliament and and to set up a news government, she added.

Speaking, actor Roshan Pilapitiya has said that the country needed a national policy with regard to the Arts field.

Also, the unstable political condition should be made stable after dissolving parliament and holding elections, he added.

Adding his voice, Teledrama and film Director Anuruddha Jayasinghe said that what they demanded were not houses or vehicles.

Noting that the infrastructure facilities of the field should be built, he said that he would join the struggle to topple this government and is even prepared to hit the streets for that cause.
