An official firearm of an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in the Colombo North area has been stolen, police media spokesman - ASP Ruwan Gunasekera says.
The firearm has been stolen last night (03) from the ASP's home in the Kotuwegoda area.
Only an elderly employee has been home when the theft had taken place, reports say.
The police spokesman further said gold jewelry weighing around 04 pounds too, had been stolen.
