There is work left for him for the country’s progress and he was defeated before he completed his duty, according to him.
As SLFP chairman, president Maithripala Sirisena has said that Rajapaksa would not be given nominations.
Weliwita said Rajapaksa was yet to decide what to do if he is not given nominations, which is the responsibility of the incumbent president.
Whatever party he contests from, he will be the prime ministerial candidate, said Weliwita, adding that contesting from an alliance is under consideration.
