The women’s affairs ministry has submitted the suggestion in response to calls by female MPs and women’s organizations.

Another proposal wants certain electorates declared exclusively for women candidates.

However, a final decision is yet to be taken, and it will be extensively discussed by party leaders.

Consideration will also be given to maintain 196 electoral divisions even if there is a change in the present 225 parliamentary seats.
