As the participants of the meeting were having their lunch, a person by the name Shantha arrived, and he went directly to Asanka and demanded to know as to whebn he would pay back the Rs. 4.8 million due to him for gem dealings.

Getting up from his seat, Asanka has assaulted Shantha, who fell down, but continued to level accusations against him, including that it was due to Soma Edirisinghe that he had been able to get back Rs. 6 million he had given to Asanka earlier.

Shantha left, saying that Asanka had borrowed money from him and bought a hotel in Veyangoda.

Later, he lodged a complaint with Wellawatte police, against Asanka, but it does not mention about the borrowed money, say police sources.
