Although the estimate amounts to Rs. 05 billion, the SLC has only financed Rs. 01 billion, reports add.

Also, the question remains whether the remaining Rs. 04 billion was footed by the Chinese company in charge of the stadium’s construction or whether the remaining sum was paid to that company through other projects.

Although the former SLC administration states that there is a cabinet paper declaring that the remaining sum would be paid by the Treasury, it has now been revealed that no such cabinet paper exists.

Meanwhile, investigations have also revealed that an additional Rs. 300 million was added to the estimate pertaining to the construction of the Pallekele Stadium.
