Speaking to the media at Sri Lanka Cricket yesterday (28), he said this forced some players to take up contracts overseas.

Speaking further, he proposed that the present three-day matches played locally should extend to five days.

School and club cricket should be developed, he said.

Mahela said he would consider supporting the development of the game at official level.
