On April 27, he told parliament that he had reports of two journalists in exile in Nepal – Jayampathy Bulathsinhala and Kumuduni Wijewardena.
The minister said he gave instructions to officials to look into the expiry of their passport and bring them back within a week.
He said he had no reports about journalist Shantha Wijesuriya.
The minister was responding to a charge by DNA’s Anura Kumara Dissanayake that the government had not paid attention to the plight of these journalists in the wake of the earthquake that devastated Nepal.
