In his letter, Prof. Wijesinha has stated that if former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is being investigated on the accusation of having bribed MP Tissa Attanayake, then an investigation can be undertaken on the Prime Minister too on similar accusations.

Prof. Wijesinha has reportedly told the Chairman of the Commission that he had been told by Prime Minister Wickremesinghe, that Minister Rauff Hakeem had wanted a payment to crossover to support the campaign of the current President.

Furthermore, the MP has further added that the Premier had also told MP M.A. Sumanthiran that Minister Rishad Bathiudeen was given a ministerial portfolio because that had been a condition for his support for the current President.
