President Maithripala Sirisena and SLFP MPs have expressed their dissatisfaction to the clauses that have been included in the proposed 19th Amendment to the Constitution that are related to the media.
The President had chaired the SLFP parliamentary group meeting last night.
Sirisena has said he believed the clauses that are seen as a threat to media freedom should be removed from the piece of legislation.
SLFP MPs at the meeting have also agreed that clauses against the media should be removed.
