President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (25) afternoon met JVP leaders and promised that he would be fully committed to see that the 19th amendment to the constitution was debated in parliament on April 27 and 28 and got it passed.
Mr. Sirisena also told JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake, secretary Tilvyn Silva and propaganda secretary Vijitha Herath that action would be taken irrespective of position against people’s representatives accused of bribery and corruption.
The JVP stressed at the meeting on the president’s involvement in these two matters.
