When she visited her daughter at the prison on 23 April she has cried requesting her mother to release her.

Upon inquiry the Commissioner General of Prisons, Mr.M.B.R.Pushpakumara has stated that though he is aware that she has been offered general amnesty, he has not received the relevant documentation thus far.

It was also been said that until appeal on the court order has been removed the measures with regard to releasing her on general amnesty will be delayed.
