Conspiracy to break up SLFP!

Conspiracy to break up SLFP! Featured

Minister Mahinda Amaraweera says there is justifiable suspicion that the UNP is involved in a conspiracy to break up the SLFP.

He said this to Sri Lanka Mirror while commenting on the summoning of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa before the bribery commission.

Amaraweera said not even president Maithripala Sirisena was aware of this, and that several party seniors including himself have signed a petition against the summoning.

Rajapaksa conspiracy

Meanwhile, at the UNP parliamentary group yesterday (20), several MPs charged the summoning of the ex-president before the bribery commission was a conspiracy by the Rajapaksas themselves.

Noting that most of the top officials of the commission were appointed by Mahinda Rajapaksa, this could be a scheme to cover up the billions of rupees of irregularities committed by him, they said.

Govt. has nothing to do with this

Speaking in parliament yesterday, prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said the government has no connection with the activities of the bribery commission.
