The event was organized by Blooming Flower sports club with the assistance of Sabaragamuwa Province Minister of Provincial Road Development, Rural Infrastructure, Tourism, Sports and Youth Affairs, Athula Kumara Rahubadda.

Upon inquiry Samanalawewa Police revealed that the event organizers have stated that the deceased individual did not take part in the competition.

The event organizers have stated that only four individuals participated in the competition, police revealed, adding that the police was not informed of the particular competition.

However, a ticket issued by the organizers to participate in the competition has been recovered from the dead individual's pocket.

Meanwhile, it is reported that the other contestants have informed the organizers that there is an individual fallen on the ground.
