He was responding to a query by Sri Lanka Mirror.
He said he would be back home on April 21 in order to respect a court order to assist police investigations into alleged financial irregularities in the Divi Neguma Development Department.
The police media spokesman said Basil Rajapaksa would be questioned over a claim by director general of the Department R.R.K. Ranawaka who has told interrogators that all financial dealings had been carried out on orders by the ex-minister.
The financial crime division of the police are to question him with regard to financial irregularities of more than Rs. 6,500 million at the Divi Neguma Development Department.
