President Sirisena yesterday summoned a meeting of UPFA party leaders to discuss the constitutional and electoral reforms.

The President after the meeting has stated that there is no obstacle for former President Rajapaksa to contest at the forthcoming general election under UPFA.

UPFA General Secretary, MP Susil Premajayantha has been quoted in the media as saying that the President had mentioned this during the meeting.

During the meeting, a lengthy discussion had also taken place about the 19th Amendment.

However, National Freedom Front (NFF) leader, MP Wimal Weerawansa had not attended the meeting.
