Wijegunawardene (born November 23, 1964, Colombo) is a former cricketer who played in two Tests and 26 ODIs from 1988 to 1992.

This came after former chairman of the committee, Sanath Jayasuriya, resigned from his post on 3 April. The selectors have submitted their resignations, after the recent overhaul of the SLC administration.

The SLC internal sources reported that Amal  Silva, Brendan  Kuruppu and Hemantha Devapriya have been appointed as other selectors.
