The Tamil girl who has been sentenced to two years in prison for having caused damage to the Sigiriya mirror wall, but given a presidential pardon, still remains in Anuradhapura prison due to the absence of a written order for her release.
The president pardoned 27-year-old Sinnatamby Udayasri on April 02 on a request by her family members.
However, the prison authorities are yet to receive the order to release her.
She was arrested on February 14 for having scratched on the mirror wall with a hairpin and sentenced to two years in prison by the Dambulla magistrate’s court.
