During the Rajapaksa regime, a proscription imposed was imposed on 15 Tamil diaspora organisations and 424 persons for allegedly maintaining links with the LTTE.

 

These included several anti-LTTE organisations calling for the rights of Tamils and several deceased persons.

 

Under this backdrop, a special discussion on this regard is to be held at the Defence ministry this morning (06).

 

At the meeting, it will be discussed on overturning the proscription imposed on organisations and individuals who do not represent the LTTE as well as to re-consider the proscription on other organisations, depending on their present activities.
