The claim was made at a media briefing on president Maithripala Sirisena’s Chinese tour, attended by ministers Rajitha Senaratne, Ravi Karunanayake and Wijeyadasa Rajapakse.

The acting Chinese ambassador said no such agreement has been reached, although the matter was raised with the relevant contractor.
