According to reports reaching Sri Lanka Mirror, the suspects are Lt. Commander Prasad Hettiarachchi, former Petty Officer Seneviratne and Lt. Commander Sampath Munasinghe, personal aide to ex-Navy commander Wasantha Karannagoda.

Court orders have been obtained to detain them for interrogation.
Raviraj and a policeman died when their vehicle was shot at between Narahenpita and Borella on 10 November 2006.

The CID resumed investigations on information received by the IGP regarding these killings and the abduction of 10 youths from several areas, and has already questioned several Navy personnel.
