The ministry has been able to secure that 28 EU countries considered the LTTE a terrorist outfit.
It is a demonstration of strength of the foreign policy of the present government, and a special victory achieved by Sri Lanka, he said.
The European Union, meeting on March 27, decided to extend the ban against the LTTE, notwithstanding a ruling given by an EU court last year, said acting foreign affairs minister Ajith P. Perera.
