Details of Priyantha Sirisena alias Weli Raju’s condition are not available as he is being treated at a private hospital in Colombo, said police spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekara.

A man surrendered to Bakamuna police yesterday (26) and confessed to having attacked him over a personal dispute.

Remanded till April 8

The suspect, Lakman, was produced before the Polonnaruwa magistrate’s court and remanded until April 08.

The police spokesman said the axe used for the attack was found near the scene of the incident.
