Will review before leaving - Lalkantha

The JVP has decided to conduct a full review of the government's 100 day programme at the next National Executive Council meeting and leave the Council if it continues to fail to meet its goals.

JVP Politburo member K.D. Lalkantha said the party leader, MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake will participate in the next National Executive Council meeting and conduct a critical analysis of the 100 day programme and the role played by the Council.

The JVP politburo member noted that the decision was reached following a lengthy discussion of the party's central committee today.

"There needs to a critical analysis on the reason to initially set up the National Executive Council and whether its goals have been met as well as the current path of the government," Lalkantha said.

He added that the JVP has concerns over the current political developments and the government's actions.
