The age limit of a child for arrest on a charge of a criminal offence will be raised from eight years to 12 years, the National Child Protection Authority has decided.

NCPA chairperson Natasha Balendra told the media that this would be done in compliance with internationally accepted regulations.

The proposal is already before the government, she said.
