The request was made when the case filed against Mutuhettigama on allegedly setting fire to an election meeting stage of President Maithripala Sirisena during the Presidential election campaign and kidnapping two suspects from police custody was taken up for hearing yesterday (23).

However, the court stated that if the MP wishes to go overseas, he should file a motion in court.

The case is to be taken up again on April 27.
