Pavithra Wanniarachchi, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, Jeevan Kumarathunga, Mahinda Samarasinghe, Dilan Perera, Jagath Pushpakumara, Lakshman Senewiratne, Lakshman Yapa, Lalith Disanayake, and C.B. Ratnayake who held ministerial portfolios in the previous regime have been demoted to the level of state ministers and deputy ministers.
While President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday appointed 26 new ministers, state ministers and deputy minister to the government, it is interesting to note that several members of the former regime have been demoted in the new government.
